About Eric Anderson - The Art of Automotive Passion

Eric Anderson was born and raised in New England, where time spent in his father’s gas stations during the 1970s and 1980s fostered a deep and lasting connection to the automobile. Surrounded by the everyday rhythms of American motoring — the forms, colors, and quiet presence of cars in daily life — he developed an early visual language that continues to inform his work.
Over the years, Anderson’s natural draftsmanship evolved from cartooning into expressive fine art, where he reinterprets automotive design through luminous color, texture, and motion. His paintings have been exhibited in gallery and luxury automotive environments, and are held in private collections. He maintains an active studio practice, creating new original works while completing select commissions.
He currently resides just north of Chicago.
Artist statement
I am a self-taught artist passionate about capturing the beauty and intricacy of automotive design. My work centers around the powerful connection between machinery and art, transforming vehicles into dynamic expressions of creativity. Inspired by the engineering marvels of automobiles, I strive to highlight the elegance and strength of these machines through vibrant colors and dynamic compositions. My technique blends realism with a touch of abstraction, allowing viewers to appreciate both the detail and the emotion behind each piece.
My creative process begins with extensive research and sketching, as I immerse myself in the history and design of each vehicle. I work primarily with oils, layering colors to create depth and movement, which brings each piece to life. I aim to evoke a sense of nostalgia and admiration in my audience, encouraging them to see automobiles as more than just machines but as works of art in their own right. The positive responses from collectors and art enthusiasts affirm my belief in the emotional power of automotive art.
As I continue to explore new automotive themes and techniques, I invite you to join me on this artistic journey. I hope to inspire others to appreciate the artistry in every curve and detail of automotive design.
